¹³ Leah said, “I am blessed, for women will call me blessed.” She named him Asher.^[a]

¹⁴ At the time of the wheat harvest Reuben went out and found mandrakes^[b] in the field and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”

¹⁵ She said to her, “Isn’t it bad enough that you have taken away my husband? Do you want to take away my son’s mandrakes as well?”

Rachel said, “He will sleep with you tonight for your son’s mandrakes.”
